Thallus to 5–10 cm wide, adnate, smooth, dull, grey to bluish grey, with or without paler sometimes slightly raised areas, to 0.1 mm thick; isidia and globose granules absent. Prothallus indistinct, mainly of interwoven hyphae, whitish. Photobiont cells solitary or a few cells aggregated, 7–15 × 5–10 μm. Medulla distinct, white. Ascigerous parts common, immersed in the medulla. Asci weakly aggregated, fragile, 6–8-spored, but usually lacking spores. Ascospores ellipsoidal, sometimes less curved on one side, 55–65 × 30–36 μm. Pycnidia rare, scattered, solitary, immersed to elevated, black. Conidia bacilliform, 3–5 × c. 1 μm. CHEMISTRY: Thallus K–, C–, KC–, P+ yellow, UV–; containing psoromic acid (major), 2’-O-demethylpsoromic acid (trace), subpsoromic acid (trace). |

This endemic species occurs on bark in coastal and monsoon vine forests in the N.T. | ||
